My Dear People,
It is appropriate that we have the American Eagle as our symbol. The standard perception is that of a strong, young, soaring, vigilant creature. At this point though, I believe our American Eagle has aged and is wearied. However, all is not lost. An eagle can revive itself.
In a recent book, Joyce Meyer recounts the process that an old, weathered, and wearied eagle endures to renew its strength.
“The eagle settles onto a high rock as close to the sun as possible and begins to pluck out his feathers one by one…sometimes as many as 7,000. He is not nearly as concerned about the pain as the process. Then he seeks a cool refreshing stream to clean himself. The water washes away all the caked mud and dirt and parasites and insects that collected on him…the eagle stands before the sun and begins to wait. The re-growth he needs will take about 40 days…he goes through a quiet season of relative weakness but then his strength is renewed.”
I would like to encourage you not to give up on our Eagle. Even though our Nation is plummeting under enormous debt, unemployment, increased government regulation and taxes, corruption and upcoming inflation, we can renew our strength. Together we must endure the painful process of plucking out these feathers, and scraping off the dirt, the parasites and insects that have worn us down.
Let us join together to renew the strength of our Eagle. Let us rebuild on the principles of the Constitution of the United States and restore the Republic.
Sincerely seeking to represent you,
Michele Waller
